The competition of a kiosk. Our plan was selected as one of finalist.

This kiosk is planned in the place along the national road with great scenery and facing to the sea.
The road connects famous spa town Beppu with Oita that is a main city in the region.

The object of the competition was to enhance the tourism attraction in the region by disposing some kiosks along the main road.

This kiosk was designed as an architecture that composes of a part of the scenery so that it might contributes to the landscape.

It is finished in the stainless net that envelopes the steel frame and green that covers the net so that the newly-added architecture would be continuos to the surrouding nature. The back side of the green wall is a rest space isolated from the noise of the road in order to see the sea on this side.

A part of the roof is covered with the reflecting glass on which the sky is projected in various time. In the evening, the background sky on the east side over the kiosk becomes darker, while, on the mirror glass, the sunset red sky on the west side is reflected. Then, the gap of the time encounters at this kiosk.

See the exterior appearance on the sea side. The stepped benches are installed in the shade of green, and the sea can be seen from the top without being blocked by handrails or quays.

The sea is on the east side of the kiosk. In the daytime, the blue sky is reflected on the reflective glass of the roof and mixes with the eastern sky, but at dusk, the sunset sky on the roof show a contrast with the dark indigo sky in the east.
